Thursday is Hurl's Day
Mwahahahahahaha...
So here's the deal. I helped EG have the.best.adventure.ever. Last Friday, when That Dad Type Guy camed home, I helped him sneak out the door. (I would've gone myself, but I was afraid that That Dad Type Guy would notice my cape whipping past him. It's quite difficult to be inconspicuous with a cape, let me tell you.) Anyway, That Woman and That Dad Type Guy were preoccupied with their broken cold box thingy, so they didn't notice that EG was missing. That Woman was wondering where EG was when the cold box thingy was pulled out to reveal the marvelous stash of milk jug rings and jingle balls - that's not the kind of thing that he'd miss. But she figured he might've needed a little alone time like he does most evenings and didn't think any more about it. But then That Dad Type Guy lefted to go pick up a pizza and That Woman noticed that EG wasn't hanging around like he usually does and he wasn't having alone time in his alone time spot. So she did a quick check of all of our (mine and EG's) hidey spots. He wasn't in any of them. Here comes the best part. She freaked right out. She was running around the house, looking under all kinds of furniture, opening the door to the Forbidden Room, rattling the treat bag, and dropping treats all over the house. It.was.awesome. Finally, she got really freaked out and started crying and ran outside. She called for EG and ran around the corner of the house and there he was, doing just what I told him to do - acting all calm, cool, and collected.** So That Woman was crying and carrying on and acting all a fool. She carried him in the house and gave him lots of hugs (the horror!) and kisses (more horror!). We all did score some treats, too, but only after we had to listen to another lecture on not running out the door when That Dad Type Guy isn't looking. About how it's better to be inside and fat than outside and flat. About how Outside can be dangerous for kittehs - we could have a run in with those vicious, rabid, golden retrievers again, or get sucked into that Hairy Tazo's street gang. Blah, blah, blah. I was just proud of my boy, EG, for getting to taste freedom for those few minutes. The fresh air, the grass under his feets. I hope he eated some rabbit poo from the yard, too. My boy done good. Til next time, kittehs.
Mwahahahahahaha...
**The Mom's note: EG wasn't all that calm, cool, and collected. He was pretty freaked out. In fact, he ran right over to me and practically jumped into my arms and his little heart was racing. But I didn't tell Hurl Grey that - I gotta protect my Grey Baby's rep, you know.

Mancat Monday
First of all, I'd like to wish The Tuxedo Gang Hideout a very happy 2nd Blogoversary! Tuxies ROCK! There's a super awesome spread over there with tons of snacks and drinks for everyone. Swing by for a niptini if you have a minute.
Um, Dorydoo, do you want to go to the celebration with me?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is a picture of me in the Forbidden Room. It is forbidden because it is super unfinished. See those rusty metal icky things that my box is on? Very dangerous. Yet very manly. I like to sneak in there when The Mom isn't looking and look around. And chill in the box. It's super manly, you know.But then The Mom always picks me up and carries me out of the super duper manly dangerous Forbidden Room. It kinda stinks.
In other, super manly news, our Aunt Liz came over on Saturday. She petted me and scritched my ears and admired my mancatliness. I didn't put the bitey on her at all. The Mom seemed to notice this and gotted all bent out of shape for some reason. "Why can't I scritch your ears? Why can't I rub your belly without getting bunnykicked? Why can't I admire your feets without getting the bitey? Who scoops your litterbox? Who gives you stinky goodness?" The Mom is a whiner. Whatevs.
In other, other news, me and Dad chilled out all weekend and did manly stuff like watch lots of college basketball. He kinda wants UConn to win the whole thing because their mascot looks like someone in our household:
I think some sort of mancat mascot should win. Because that would be super manly.
I don't have a Mancat Rule of the Day today because I've been too busy mancatting around. I'll have one next week.
Happy Monday! And have a Grey-t Day!
Mancat Monday
So Dad brought home this really sweet cat tower on Friday. It's super tall and has four hidey holes and it's super fun to climb. Plus I can chillax on the top and look super adorable and then The Mom will walk by and give me a tummy scritch and I can bunny kick her and give her the bitey. It's super cool. The Mom also sprinkled primo nip all over it and hid toys and treats in there so that we'd be surprised when we found them. She was a pretty cool The Mom this weekend - as far as The Moms go. Anyway, me and Tazo got super nipped out and googly-eyed and stuff this weekend. It rocked. This is a picture of me being super nice to her and cleaning her furs. And then right after this, I whapped her on the head and put the bitey on her. heh heh
Mancat Rule of the Day: Look super cute and be super nice to your sister and your The Mom so that you can whap them when they least expect it.
Wordy Whiskie Wednesday
Here is a picture of me, trying to enjoy some homegrown, primo nip AND a rattley mousie. This is also a picture of *someone* getting all up in my grill about it. Back off with those ominous whiskies, EG.
Freezing Froot Bat Friday
Here are my frozen ears of corn. It is very freezing here in the Mitten State. Again. Or still. We got more snow last night. This is me right after I came in from my 9 o'clock potty break. I was covered in snow. So Mom dried me off, got me up on the couch next to Dad, and covered me up. It was pretty cozy.
This is me getting ready to blog. I am still covered up, so Mom said she'd type for me. Dad and I watched the rest of Celebrity Apprentice and some March Madness basketball while Mom typed. It turned out to be a pretty relaxing night, despite all the snow.
In other news, EG got in trouble last night. He chased Tazo up on top of the cable box and then put a giant bitey on her neck. She screamed, I jumped up to defend her, and Dad grabbed EG. It was a pretty exciting night. EG had to get a time out. He was still mad after that, so he tried to put the bitey on my ear. He got in trouble for that, too.
Happy Froot Bat Friday everyone!
Froot Bat Friday
Froot Bat ears are only at half mast today. EG put the bitey on them last night. He got in trouble, but I'm not taking any chances today. I'm gonna just lay low.
Mancat Monday
It is important to always look manly, even if you have a horrible, askeery, pink bag choking you. And even if your sister is whapping you on the head.
Oh, and yes, we're on the stove. Which normally would be very dangerous. But have no fear! It's hardly ever used. heh heh Don't tell The Mom I said that.
PS - If anyone would like a Christmas/holiday card, please e-mail your snail mail address to us at thefurrykids AT gmail DOT com
PS 2 - And Momma wants us to tell you that she doesn't expect cards back, so if you're not sending out cards this year, but still want one from us that's perfectly fine. We have plenty to go around. She ordered like a squillion.
Wiped Out White Dawg Wednesday
I'm laying low today. And napping. Definitely napping.
There was a lot of excitement at our house last night. First, Mom and Dad were trying to eat dinner. Tazo swiped a piece of bread off of Dad's plate and ran behind the TV. When EG and Mom tried to get it back, they got growled at. hee hee I scored a piece of turkey, though, so it's all good.
Then Mom tried to wrap the Secret Paws gifts (and no, we're not telling who it's for!), but Tazo and EG tried to help her. She asked Dad to wrangle them while she finished wrapping, but EG kept getting away from him. Mom sprinkled some of the primo nip that they got from Skeezix (from the Halloween contest) on the floor. EG rolled in it and ate it and got it all over his furs. He was distracted enough that Mom could finish with the Secret Paws stuff.
But because he was so high, he got his head caught in the handle of a plastic bag. And he was blaming Tazo for it, so he kept whapping her on the head (even though she had nothing to do with it). Mom freed him from the evil plastic bag and then he chased Tazo around the house, doing poofy tail, and trying to put the bitey on her. She did poofy tail right back and popped him a couple of times in the head. Normally, I would play referee, but I stayed out of this one. It was a little askeery.
Then, Mom carried the Secret Paw package out to the car so it would stay safe overnight. hee hee Right after she locked it in the car, it started pouring. Cold, pelting rain. Of course, it was time for me to go outside, but I refused. While she was standing there, holding the door open and trying to get me to run outside real quick (Mom, let's see *you* try to "just pee real quick" in the pouring rain and see how *you* like it!), out of nowhere, EG came flying down the hall and right out the back door. Mom headed out right behind him. Normally, when he escapes (which he is NOT supposed to do!!!), he runs out onto the patio and flops down and rolls around. Mom normally runs over, grabs him, and takes him back inside. HOWEVER, he decided to run past the patio, into the yard, and behind the garage. Of course, it's dark, so Mom can't see him very well and it's pouring and cold. She ran behind the garage and there he was. He started back toward her and she picked him up and rushed toward the house. Her heart was pounding and EG's heart was pounding. (He'll never admit it, but I think he was a little askeered - he's never been out that far before, especially in the rain). Right when they got to the back door, EG dug his claws into Mom's shoulder and made her squeal. She opened the door, ran inside, and flung EG off her shoulder.
The whole thing was quite a sight. Mom, soaked and muddy, staring at EG, and EG, soaked and not muddy, glaring at Mom. Tazo and I ran off to the family room to hang with Dad. Mom picked up EG and apologized for the flinging part and explained (AGAIN) that he isn't allowed to go outside unless he's in the stroller or wearing his harness (and accompanied by a grown up). He gave her a bunch of dirty looks and then headed to the family room.
Mom changed clothes and came to tell us goodnight. She headed to bed. I could tell she was still upset, so, of course, I cuddled with her. Pretty soon, EG came into the bedroom. He boobwalked a little then he E-Dubbed under the covers. He laid on her chest for a long time. They talked some more and he purred and purred (which he NEVER does for her). I think they made up. Sometimes, I think he really likes her.
Furious Froot Bat Friday
I am furious. Someone put the bitey on my ear last night. Again. What the paw? What did I do? Um, NOTHING! Just because EG's mad at Mom doesn't mean he has to take it out on me. He did get a time out for it, though. After he put the bitey on Mom's arm (and left a bruise! - he never did that before) and on her tummy. And on my ear. So maybe I shouldn't have teased him the other night about being afraid of chicken. But seriously, who is afraid of chicken? Chicken is tasty. Did someone say chicken? I gotta go to the kitchen right now. Happy Friday!
White Dawg Wednesday
So here's the deal. Yesterday, I was sitting on the couch in my favorite spot, trying to take a rest. I was having a pretty good nap, and Mom was dozing in the TT-san chair. All of a sudden, there was a terrible pain in my ear. I yelped. Mom jumped up and ran over to me. Neither of us knew what had happened. We were very confused and Mom was kinda worried because I don't just yelp for no reason. But Dad explained the whole thing. Apparently, while Mom and I were dozing, EG (who had been laying in Dad's lap on the other side of the couch) jumped up on the couch arm, walked over to me, and put the bitey on my ear. Grrrr. He got a "talking to." heh heh
