Tazo: I don't know, Earl.

EG: PAR-TAY!!!! heh heh Dad taught me that joke.

Tazo: Don't forget that everyone's invited over today to play. I mean, PAR-TAY! Hope to see you there.

Froot Bat Friday - Pink Eared Edition

This one's for you, Daisy. I think it shows off my pink ears quite nicely.

PS - Mom would like to thank you all for your suggestions for the question she asked on Tuesday. You know, the one that's the big birthday secret and everything? Anyway, she's been trying out the suggestions and well, there's probably going to be a post or two about it next week. The flashy box has been out A LOT this week. And there's been lots of giggling at Earl Grey, too. heh heh

Thursday Thirteen - Edition 17

Thirteen Things You May or May Not Know About Us

1. We’ll be two on 7/31.

2. We are littermates. There were three of us in the litter but our other sibling went to the Bridge. Momma (who never, ever had a cat before), couldn’t bear the thought of separating us and took us both.

3. Our Mommy Kitty’s name was Buttons. She was a teenage mother. She was grey like Earl Grey, with lots and lots of little, skinny, black stripes. Momma was very tempted to take her home with us, too.

4. Titus liked us from the moment he saw us. He was even protective of us when Shadow (our dawg sister who went to the Bridge last year) tried to chomp us.

5. Shadow didn’t like us at all, so Momma and Daddy had to keep us separate from the dawgs.

6. When we were baby kitties, I was the adventurous and curious one and Earl Grey was really skittish. Now it’s the other way around.

7. Earl Grey has a knot in his tail from when it got slammed in a door when we were little baby kitties. Every time he goes to the V-E-T, someone there comments on how big the knot is.

8. EG has yellow eyes and mine are yellowish green.

9. I have three little grey dots on the back of my neck that Momma always likes to smooch on.

10. We both have white whiskers around our mouths, but EG’s eyebrow whiskers are grey and mine are white.

11. EG’s nose is grey and mine is grey-ish pink. Our paw pads are all the same color - greyish pink (the same as my nose).

12. If Momma puckers up her lips, I give her a kiss. If she puckers up her lips at EG, he backs away. He does not like kisses. At all. He doesn't even fall for her fruity-flavored chapstick trick.

13. When we sleep with Momma and Daddy, we sleep on their legs (usually Momma’s) or laying next to their legs. We never sleep up by their heads or near their pillows. Even though Momma asks us to.

White Dawg Wednesday

This white dawg is wiped out. Mom asked me to keep the twins away from the computer for a couple of days so she could post that question to you guys about their birfday presents. Let me tell you - babysitting is exhausting! Today alone was spent playing Thundering Herd of Elephants, knocking pictures off the mantle, unrolling toilet paper, pretending to eat plastic to freak Mom out, knocking over the cat grass that Mom was growing for them as a surprise, and whapping me on the nose. Oh, and peeing in front of the litter box (though, I didn't participate since I'm not allowed in there - grrr) because Mom cleaned it out yesterday but forgot to put a little of the used litter back in there. When will she learn? Mom says they'll probably be back to blogging by tomorrow. Thank dawg, because I don't know how much more of this I can handle. I'm feeling the need to indiscriminate competitive eat some kitty box crunchies or a box of cereal or some Clif bars or, well, I gotta go lay down.
No barz, no barz, no barz...

~Titus

Oh, and I'm supposed to invite you guys over for 'nip bubbles and vanilla ice cream and probably birfday cake for the twins' birfday on Tuesday, July 31. There's probably going to be some more food, but I can't think about that right now. No barz, no barz, no barz...
Oh, anyway, come over anytime. We'll be home and ready to party.

Tell Momma Tuesday

The Furry Kids' Mom here:

I had to sneak online real quick before they wake up from their nap...

This is a HUGE secret, but we got them harnesses for their birthdays. I only have experience with dogs and harnesses and that's pretty easy. Titus accepted his immediately. I'm thinking that kitty harnesses might take a little more practice. For all you kitties out there who have harnesses, how did your beans get you used to them? Any advice for us? Do's, don'ts, helpful tips? Thank you!

Eavesdropping...

Earl Grey:
I heard Mom say that she ordered us a birthday present yesterday. Sweet! Then I heard her say that she hopes it makes it here in time. I hope so, too, because she told Dad that it rocks! I totally hope it's a stroller.

Tazo:
Mom says we're not getting a stroller for a while. Because they had to spend a ton of green papers on SOMEONE who ate Titus' toy. Wonder who that could be? Hmm? Besides, strollering seems kinda askeery. I'm not a brave adventurer like Daisy
But I am wondering what Mom ordered. I hope it's snacks. And a catnip banana. Those look like fun. Or maybe I'm getting a cute outfit.

Thursday Thirteen - Edition 16

Thirteen Things Heard Around Our House This Week:

Momma: It's not time to get up yet. It's sleepy time. Go night, night.

Dad: Ooooh, it’s almost mani/pedi time! That girl’s got some claws!

Momma: No, Speckle Kitt’-en! Stop chewing that cord!

Momma: Look Kitt’-ens! The Habanero Tabasco sauce has arrived! :evil laughter: (We didn’t like this comment too much)

Momma: Titus, what’s all over your furs? Ewwww, it’s rotten mulberries. :gag: You didn’t eat any, did you?

Momma: No, kitty box crunchies today, T.

Momma: Why are you loose in the house, T?

Momma: Earl Grey, let your brother in the house! Hold on, T. Let me get him. I won't let him get you. Eggie! Leave him alone! You know he's not allowed to retaliate. Eggie, NO!

Momma: Tazo, where’s Eggie? Did your Dad take him outside again?

Daddy: Look at how cute they look with whipped cream all over their whiskers. Hey, leave my pie alone!! That's my pie! Pie is not for kitt'-ens!

Momma: Drop that pizza! Ack, she ran in the laundry room! Oh, crap, she ran into the bedroom. Are you under the bed? Grab her, Daddy! Tazo, stop growling at me!

Momma: Why is your motor so quiet today, Teezee?

Momma: No bite! Momma’s are not for biting. Momma’s are for loving. Ow! No bite!
No, Eggie, no!

Meme

We got tagged by Victor for Tara’s meme.

The questions are:

1. What were you doing 10 years ago?

Titus: I was not born yet.

Tazo & EG: We were not borned yet.

2. What were you doing 1 year ago?

Titus: Hanging out around the house, indiscriminate competitive eating, playing with Tazo & EG

Tazo & EG: We were waiting for our birthday, breaking stuff, bunnykicking Mom and Dad and each other, putting the bitey on Mom and Dad and each other, perfecting our game of Thundering Herd of Elephants

3. Five snacks you enjoy:

Titus: The real question should be, what don’t I enjoy? Anyway…five random things that I like are:
Ice cubes, Trader Joe’s cat cookies (this really horrifies Mom when Dad lets me have these – she says I shouldn’t be encouraged to eat cats), Wellness jerky treats, Charlie Bears, litterbox goodies, plain cake cones (ice cream cones without the ice cream ;) )

Tazo & EG: We don't get too many snacks, but some things that we like are Cheetos, cracker crumbs, real whipped cream (we just had this and holy cats, it's GOOD!), T's ice cream-less ice cream cone crumbs, we once snuck a bite of a Butterfinger candy bar (it was super good, but we sort of got in trouble)

4. Five songs to which you know all the lyrics:

We all know the words to these two songs because Momma sings them all.the.time.

The Star Spangled Banner and How Sweet It Is (to be Loved by You) by Marvin Gaye

Titus:
How Much is that Dawggie in the Window? By Patti Page
Gonna Buy Me a Dawg by the Monkees
Angel Eyes by The Jeff Healey Band
Beautiful Girl by INXS (only substitute “T” for Girl)
I’m a Slave for U by Britney Spears (only substitute “T” for the U)

Tazo & EG:
Siamese Cat Song from Lady and the Tramp
A Cat had a Birthday from an album of Sesame Street birthday songs
All Cats are Grey by The Cure
Girls Not Grey by AFI
Bird on a Wire by Johnny Cash

5. Five things you would do if you were a millionaire:

Titus: Open up a shelter for animals that need homes, buy a steak factory so I could have steak any time I want, have Mom quit her job so she can stay home and scratch my belly all the time, buy a big chunk of land so I could run and run and run, donate lots of money to the MI Humane Society

Tazo & EG: Ditto T’s idea for the shelter and the Humane Society donations, buy a giant cat tree, buy a stroller, buy a big house with stairs so we can play Thundering Herd of Elephants up and down the stairs, rule the world (Mom made me take that out - rats!)

6. Five bad habits:

Even though we don't really think these are bad habits, Mom made us put these in here.

Titus: indiscriminate competitive eating, playing Lion Tamer with Tazo and freaking mom out, rawring really early in the morning and late at night, slapping Mom with my big paw when she’s not paying attention to me, hogging the bed

Tazo & EG: Putting our paws in Momma’s cereal bowl, breaking things, cord chewing, playing Thundering Herd of Elephants at 4 am, standing at the backdoor crying whenever T goes outside

7. Five things you like doing:

Eating, sleeping, playing Thundering Herd of Elephants (preferably at 4 am), WWE Cage Matches on Mom and Dad’s bed at 4 am, getting tummy rubs and ear scritches, yowling at the backdoor to go outside (EG), knocking stuff off shelves (the twins), running around the back yard (T)

8. Five things you would never wear again:

Titus: Clothes!!! I don’t like clothes. Mom has put a t-shirt on me once or twice but then I feel like I can’t move, so I just sit there looking pitiful until she takes it off me

EG: Stitches!!! Cones!!! And collars!!!

Tazo: I had stitches when I had my girl surgery when I was a baby kitty and they were itchy. But EG helped me lick the itchiness off them (well, until Momma yelled at us). I have never worn anything (not even a collar), though I might like to try. Some of Daisy’s outfits are really cute. I think it might be fun to get all dolled up once in a while.

9. Five Favorite Toys:

Titus: Nylabones, my pink Happy Birthday Piggy, my stuffed snake, my stuffed octopus with the tufty hair, the Twins

Tazo & EG: T, wadded up paper, toilet paper on the roll, rolls of paper towels, the scratchy post thing that Momma hung on the doorknob

Whew! That was pretty cool. Now we have to tag some other aminals...

We tag:

Adan, Zeus, Willow, Toby, and Skittles

If you haven't already been tagged :)

Dawg Days of Summer

Schmoozers

We got nominated for the Schmooze Award by Parker and Lux. We are honored!

"As it goes, schmoozing is the natural ability 'to converse casually, especially in order to gain an advantage or make a social connection.' Good schmoozers effortlessly weave their way in and out of the blogosphere, leaving friendly trails and smiles, happily making new friends along the way. They don’t limit their visits to only the rich and successful, but spend some time to say hello to new blogs as well. They are the ones who engage others in meaningful conversations, refusing to let it end at a mere hello - all the while fostering a sense of closeness and friendship."
Here are the rules: Each award winner is to display the badge on the sidebar of his blog with a link to the post which contains the explanation of the award, then nominate five bloggers to receive the award.

Thank you Parker and Lux!
We nominate Adan, Bonnie & Victor, Eric & Flynn, & Oscar.

Feets on Friday

These are my back feets. Do not look too closely at my toenails. I have managed to avoid a manicure, pedicure, and toe fur trimming so far. Only because my nails have mulberry stains on them and it sort of grosses out Mom. Earl Grey thinks I can probably stretch this out for a couple more weeks. All I gotta keep doing is walking around under the mulberry tree. Heh heh

Jeter - I fell off the wagon again this morning. I litterbox surfed *and* chowed down on mulberries when I was supposed to be going potty.

No barz, no barz, no barz, no barz, no barz...

Rockin'

I got nominated by Willow and Bathsheba. Sweet! I feel like a rockstar.

Now to nominate 5 other rockin' chicks...

*Ayla: because she just plain rocks. She always seems grumpy, but I don't think she really is all that grumpy. Plus, she likes cheese and I do, too.

*China the Dawg: because we just started reading her bloggie and she seems like a cool dawg (and Titus has a little crush on her)

*Skittles: because she teaches us yoga and serves great snacks after class

*Tipper and Misty: because they're part of The Crew and we think the crew rocks!!! (Plus, Earl Grey thinks they're cute because they're grey and white like him)

Now, you Rockin' Girls can have fun with this and pick 5 more!

Mulberry Monday

I've been practicing my indiscriminate competitive eating this weekend. We have a mulberry tree in the back yard and I've been spending lots of time out there. More than Mom realized. Let's just say that mulberries apparently have a lot of um, fiber. In the words of my life coach, Jeter Harris, DUHR.

Don't you think the dark purple mulberry stains set off my furs nicely?

Furry Feets on Friday

Mom says I'm a little overdue for a manicure and a toe fur trim. Bummer.
