Wiped Out White Dawg Wednesday

I'm laying low today. And napping. Definitely napping.

There was a lot of excitement at our house last night. First, Mom and Dad were trying to eat dinner. Tazo swiped a piece of bread off of Dad's plate and ran behind the TV. When EG and Mom tried to get it back, they got growled at. hee hee I scored a piece of turkey, though, so it's all good.

Then Mom tried to wrap the Secret Paws gifts (and no, we're not telling who it's for!), but Tazo and EG tried to help her. She asked Dad to wrangle them while she finished wrapping, but EG kept getting away from him. Mom sprinkled some of the primo nip that they got from Skeezix (from the Halloween contest) on the floor. EG rolled in it and ate it and got it all over his furs. He was distracted enough that Mom could finish with the Secret Paws stuff.

But because he was so high, he got his head caught in the handle of a plastic bag. And he was blaming Tazo for it, so he kept whapping her on the head (even though she had nothing to do with it). Mom freed him from the evil plastic bag and then he chased Tazo around the house, doing poofy tail, and trying to put the bitey on her. She did poofy tail right back and popped him a couple of times in the head. Normally, I would play referee, but I stayed out of this one. It was a little askeery.

Then, Mom carried the Secret Paw package out to the car so it would stay safe overnight. hee hee Right after she locked it in the car, it started pouring. Cold, pelting rain. Of course, it was time for me to go outside, but I refused. While she was standing there, holding the door open and trying to get me to run outside real quick (Mom, let's see *you* try to "just pee real quick" in the pouring rain and see how *you* like it!), out of nowhere, EG came flying down the hall and right out the back door. Mom headed out right behind him. Normally, when he escapes (which he is NOT supposed to do!!!), he runs out onto the patio and flops down and rolls around. Mom normally runs over, grabs him, and takes him back inside. HOWEVER, he decided to run past the patio, into the yard, and behind the garage. Of course, it's dark, so Mom can't see him very well and it's pouring and cold. She ran behind the garage and there he was. He started back toward her and she picked him up and rushed toward the house. Her heart was pounding and EG's heart was pounding. (He'll never admit it, but I think he was a little askeered - he's never been out that far before, especially in the rain). Right when they got to the back door, EG dug his claws into Mom's shoulder and made her squeal. She opened the door, ran inside, and flung EG off her shoulder.

The whole thing was quite a sight. Mom, soaked and muddy, staring at EG, and EG, soaked and not muddy, glaring at Mom. Tazo and I ran off to the family room to hang with Dad. Mom picked up EG and apologized for the flinging part and explained (AGAIN) that he isn't allowed to go outside unless he's in the stroller or wearing his harness (and accompanied by a grown up). He gave her a bunch of dirty looks and then headed to the family room.

Mom changed clothes and came to tell us goodnight. She headed to bed. I could tell she was still upset, so, of course, I cuddled with her. Pretty soon, EG came into the bedroom. He boobwalked a little then he E-Dubbed under the covers. He laid on her chest for a long time. They talked some more and he purred and purred (which he NEVER does for her). I think they made up. Sometimes, I think he really likes her.

PS - If anyone would like a Christmas/holiday card, please e-mail your snail mail address to us at thefurrykids AT gmail DOT com

PS 2 - And Momma wants us to tell you that she doesn't expect cards back, so if you're not sending out cards this year, but still want one from us that's perfectly fine. We have plenty to go around. She ordered like a squillion.

  1. Titus, you look very tired in that photo! What an adventure in your house last night. EG, outside is a dangerous place, you shouldn't go running out like that! I can't imagine going outside in the rain - brr! I'm glad you were able to cuddle and purr afterwards.

  2. Wow, Titus, that was an awful lot of excitement last night! That nip must have really gotten to EG if he ran that far out the door in the pouring rain. I'm glad he's safe, and that your mom seems to have made up with him. Have a restful day! Purrrs.

  5. You really do have such an exciting time in your house! I can't believe EG tried to escape that far away. Must have been the nip!

Thanks again for the kindness towards my LL. She really liked hearing from our friends while she was in bed, it made her smile that she was not alone with "bad" animals. I can't believe she made me repeat that!
