TGIF

Dear Mom,

Just because we get you up at 4:47 am and you decide that you have to go to the litterbox, so you get up and then we squawk and squawk and squawk and you decide to feed us so that hopefully we’ll go back to sleep so that you can go back to sleep, we still have to continue on with our morning schedule. This includes Thundering Herd of Elephants until 5:34 am and then more squawking because kibble served at 4:47 am does not count as breakfast – which is always served promptly at 5:34 am. Then since our schedule has been disrupted, we have to play Thundering Herd of Elephants until 6:00 am, even though you’re begging us to go sleep sleep so that you can go sleep sleep. And don’t get mad at us when you finally get up for work and we’re headed back to bed. This is our schedule, Mom. You know this.

Love,

Tazo & Earl Grey

PS - Don’t forget to rinse out the water bowl and put fresh water in there because you know that I, EG, do not like to drink after Titus. He leaves slobber in the water and I don’t do dawg drool. And yes, I will sit by the water bowl and give you a dirty look until you take care of it. Mmkay? Thanks.

  1. It's amazing how humans don't seem to realize that we have our set schedules. Earl Grey, although Titus is a very nice woofie, I don't blame you for not wanting to drink dog drool.

  2. This is a really gentle and kind letter to your mommie and I hope she straightens out and gets back on track. She can nap during the day while you three are napping, right?

  3. Dear Earl Grey and Tazo,
Humans must be trained. You might know that I am in charge of waking my mom at 4:30 every morning by knocking down everything on the night table or ... on the dresser. I like the "thundering herd of elephants" concept. We sometimes use that here, too!
Please ask your brother Titus to visit his Catster page. I've left him a message.

  5. Hah! We just all get in bed with Maw so there isn't any room for her. Then she has to get up.

Tee hee, you didn't see the REST of Dorfie's dismount. It wasn't a pretty sight.... He's getting really good at judging how big his cone is since this is the 3rd time in less than a year that he's had to wear it.

  13. The thundering herds game is really the best. Clyde and I played that one day and knocked over our water thingy. It had almost a gallon of water in it. It went all over the kitchen floor. Heehee!!!

  15. Wowww, your momma is great, I can't get michico up so early, maybe because there is only 1 cat is me, so my water and food always ok with myself.

But, I agree with your point, just list your rule to your momma~! As long as she could get up, I think she could handle that.

  16. I'm a thinking my momma has it too good. We don't wake her up. We wait until she's up before we start pestering her. Even the kittens wait until she gets up. This morning she got up and I had to give her my special quick come look yowl. The lady had let the water bowl become bone dry. Can you believe that? So maybe I should be waking her up when she's not on schedule, hmmmmm what a wonderful ideal! The kittens are really good with the elephant run, but they've never used it as an alarm clock

  18. Dear Kids, I think your morning itinerary is just right - no need to make changes to allow for the humans' habits. FAZ

  19. My name is Poppy Q and i have come to say hello to you. my mum found your blog at her work and spent a good half hour, imbetween waiting for jobs reading and laughing.

did you see Fazs blog. she has an automatic cat feeder that opens at 4.30 am and dispenses biscuits so she leaves her beans in peace.

Me, I stay in bed all night and mum has to wake me up when she gets up. Of course she has to show me where my biscuits are - every morning.
