Thinking on Thursday *and* Aunt Jen Update

I have these hairs that stick out of the back of my front legs. I have two on one leg and three on the other. They are way longer than the rest of my furs. Momma noticed that EG has them, too.

Does any other kitty out there have these? Do they have a special purpose, like are they special leg whiskies? Or are we part of some horrible, alien experiment? Or are they connected to our tummy clocks (which have been set to 4:30 am for the last week)? I'm guessing Dragonheart and Merlin don't have them, which leads me to believe that they're not exactly a necessity, which leads me to believe that I maybe should be a little askeered. Should I go hide under the bed?

All this thinking is making me sleepy. I think I need a nap.

UPDATE ON AUNT JEN: More happy dances and screaming at our house this morning. Aunt Jen called Momma to tell her about her bone marrow test results. She's in remission! She starts her consolidation chemo on Monday. This part is supposed to kill all the bad guy cells that might be lurking around so they don't sneak in and cause a relapse. Aunt Jen and Momma want to thank you guys for all your thoughts and purrs and purrayers. They really appreciate it. It means a lot to Aunt Jen that all kinds of kitties and dawgs and beans are pulling for her.

  2. Those look very cool, Tazo! :) Leg whiskers! :) And no, we don't have any. Dragonheart has a bit of fuzz (like on his ears) at the back of his "knees" but no whisker-like hairs. And we don't have regular whiskers either.

  6. Congratulations on Aunt Jen's remission! That's very wonderful news.

I have whiskers on the inside of my wrists. I think I might have read somewhere that they are so when you have prey, like a mouse, between your front legs, you can sense it better.
