Thursday Thirteen - Edition 47

THINK SPRING!

We thing spring might finally be here in the Mitten State. Here's thirteen things that make us think so:

1. The sun has been shining, giving us great sunspots in which to warm our furs.

2. The Stripey Motor City Kitties are on a losing streak. 0-7 as of 8 pm last night. Please do not confuse them with the other Motor City Kitties that also tend to lose a lot of games. hee hee

3. The days are getting longer, which means that we're probably going to have to play Thundering Herd of Elephants starting around 2 am instead of 3 am. That's really going to cut into our nap time.

4. STROLLERING!!!

5. There have been lots of dawgs being walked in the neighborhood. Ripley the Greyhound was even out without his coat on Sunday.

6. The grass is sort of maybe getting green.

7. Dad has been wearing shorts, even though Momma is still wearing long sleeve t-shirts and sweatshirts and her wool socks. Because she is always cold.

8. Did we mention STROLLERING???!!!

9. The Detroit Red Wings' first round playoffs start tonight!!!

10. There was a Hairy Tazo sighting the other afternoon.

11. Open windows and fresh air.

12. ROAMING BANDS OF VICIOUS AND RABID GOLDEN RETRIEVERS. IN OUR YARD. ROAMING. VICIOUSLY. WHILE WE ARE TRYING TO GO STROLLERING!!!

13. Momma's been doing lots of decluttering and spring cleaning. She even threw out some :gasp: TOYS.

In other news, yesterday morning, Momma poured a mug of coffee and left it on the stove while she ran to the bathroom to put another coating of gunk on her hair. Then she heard some sloshing and then the sound of breaking glass. heh Then we got yelled at. Well, not Titus, because he's a goody two shoes, but me and EG. But the yelling was more like, "Don't step in the broken glass!" rather than getting in trouble. She asked us who did it, but we're not telling even though it was EG because I do not push mugs off of the counter. I think we have her trained pretty well. And I think that Sammy might be super proud of us. hee hee

Mancat Monday

It was a very exciting weekend. The weather was finally NICE. And guess what??? The Mom broke out the stroller. And it rocked!

Here I am getting ready to hit the open road. Tazo decided not to go. Well, mainly Dad didn't know that you have to put us in the stroller and THEN take us outside. He took the stroller outside and then carried me out and put me in it. (Which got him in some trouble with The Mom, but whatever.) The Mom tried to carry Tazo outside and put her in the stroller, but she didn't want to go. So she stayed home. And got Temptations. And I didn't get any. But it was probably a good thing she decided to stay home because about 30 seconds after this picture was taken, we were ATTACKED BY RABID GOLDEN RETRIEVERS. It was terrifying. (The Mom's note: We were not attacked. The new neighbors' goldens slipped outside the fence and came running over to see us. One of the other neighbors saw what happened and came over to help me get them back in their yard. No one was harmed.)

We finally got out on the road. Here is a picture of Dad and Titus. Titus is very happy to be walking. He has a giant smile on his face and a spring in his step.

The Mom calls this one the Picture of Her Boys. It shows Dad, Me, and Titus.

After we got back, Dad grilled some salmon and veggies outside. It smelled great. All of us furry kids got a bite of salmon. We all scarfed it down. The Mom was so surprised because me and Tazo are not much for people food. And after the recent piece-of-chicken-lost-in-the-couch incident, she wasn't sure what we'd do. But she shouldn't have been worried. Salmon rocks.

Here I am resting up after the adventure. It was a super exciting day.

Hope everyone has a great Monday.

Froot Bat, Flea, and Fashion Friday

What?! It was a mistake! I get one little bug on my head and this is what happens?! I wanna talk to my lawyer!

(Mom's note: He's not in dawg jail. He's standing on the patio behind the fence. Besides, would a dawg in jail have a smile that big?)

In other news, while we don't think we like to wear clothes (EG's tried out a cone and a collar - and neither went very well), we do think a STROLLER is a great fashion accessory.

We went STROLLERING again last night. It went pretty well. Tazo didn't really freak out this time while we were going out the back door. We hope the STROLLERING police don't see this picture, though. According to our Owner's Manual, we are breaking one of the very important STROLLERING rules - only one pet at a time. But since we do almost everything together, Mom said that we could go STROLLERING together, too. We're born to be wild!

(Titus' note: They still haven't gone farther than the driveway. Hahahahahaha!)

Happy Friday Everybody!!!

Thursday Thirteen - Edition 24

Thirteen Things That Happened This Week

1. WE GOT A STROLLER AND WENT STROLLERING!!! We hit the open road. It was awesome! We felt the sun on our faces and wind in our furs. Whee! (Titus' note: They went to the end of the driveway and back. Once. That's it. Hahahahaha!)

2. Mom emptied our litterboxes, scrubbed them out, and filled them with fresh, clean Swheat Scoop.

3. We peed on the floor right in front of our freshly cleaned litterboxes.

4. WE GOT A STROLLER AND WENT STROLLERING!!!

5. Earl Grey played in the toilet. Then got his feets wiped off with baby wipes.

6. Mom cleaned out under the couch and found 22 balls, 5 milk jug rings, and a pink mousie. Then she forgot to put them away before she went to bed, so guess what we did at 3 am?! PLAYED JINGLE BALL! AND THUNDERING HERD OF ELEPHANTS!!! Because that's what you do after you play jingle ball at 3 am!

7. Someone who's big and white and hairy had a flea on his head, so we all got flea drops. Grrrr.

8. Mom vacuumed and vacuumed and vacuumed and then washed all the bedding. Because of the stupid flea. On someone's froot bat head. We worked so hard to get all our furs all over everything and now we have to start all over.

9. Mom was off yesterday and we got lots of cuddles and snuggles. We even all took a nap on the couch.

10. Our internet was down all day so Mom said a bunch of words from the bad word list. We couldn't visit our friends' bloggies or Meow Like A Pirate, and Mom couldn't check her e-mail or do her homework. Grrrr.

11. Earl Grey hasn't tried to run outside all week. BECAUSE WE GOT A STROLLER AND CAN GO STROLLERING!!!

12. Titus got to take a long walk with Mom. He pooped in the park and Mom had to pick it up with a plastic bag. And she had to carry the poop in the bag all the way home because the trashcans in the park have been put away for the winter. Hahahahahaha!

13. WE GOT A STROLLER AND WENT STROLLERING!!!

Freaking Out Friday!

I hear the rumble of a diesel truck in the distance. Could it be the Man in Brown?

There's a knock at the door. Could it be him? Is it him? Is he here? Is my surprise finally here?!
Holy cats! It is *not* the dawg in the lobster suit!

In the words of The Ballicus Mom, "SQUEE!!!" *clunk*

Titus here: EG just passed out from the excitement of getting a stroller (which does not match my BLUE walking harness, by the way, and if he thinks we're going on walks together, he's got another thing coming). Anyway, the poor little fella's had a pretty intense couple of days. I guess all the excitement has been a little too much for him. We're gonna try to wake him up now and we'll be back soon.

Man Cat and Tell Momma Monday - Edition 3

I, Earl Grey, would really like to go outside. Mom says I can’t because I’m a little kitty and it’s a big world out there. Plus, she's just super protective of me after that whole eating the dog toy/obstruction incident. *much eye rolling* She did say that once I get my shots up to date and a microchip, she would probably get me a harness (and also reminded me that I’d have to wear a collar and tags outside with my harness – boo, hiss). She was wondering if there was anything special that she needs to know about harnesses. She’s been scoping them out at the pet store and the cat ones look pretty basic. Are those what you guys have?

She’s also worried because she had a dog once that would slip out of her harness and she certainly doesn’t want that to happen to me because I may run away and I won't come back like her dog did and she doesn’t want that to happen. It really worries her that I can get so boneless and rubbery. Has anyone slipped out of their harness?

Finally, she’s wondering about a leash. Titus has a ginormous 6’ leather leash that would be much too heavy for a mancat such as myself, but she’s wondering if the leashes that match the harnesses that she saw at the store are sturdy enough to wrangle me. I told her that she wouldn’t have to wrangle me because we’re not in a rodeo or anything.

Hmmm, I think after all these harness questions, I may have her talked into a stroller. *grins*
I guess that’s it for Tell Momma Monday.

Peace out.
