Thinking on Thursday

Decisions, decisions...
Do I nap on this super comfy tower of beds? Or do I chomp on a delicious pink ear? heh heh

White Dawg Wednesday

Mom says this picture sort of reminds her of Alfred Hitchcock. She says it seems like I should be saying, "Good eeeevening." Whatever.

In other news, Aunt Jen found out last night that the chemo induction that she had two weeks ago got rid of the bad guys in her bone marrow, so she doesn't have to do another round of 24/7 chemo. Mom was screaming and screaming and dancing around the house. It really hurted my delicious, pink ears. The doctors are going to give her medicines to boost her immune system starting tomorrow and hopefully she can go home in 10-14 days. She has to have more chemo over the next few months to make sure that the bad guys stay away, but she's headed in the right direction. Thank you all for your thoughts and purrayers. The Cat Blogosphere rocks!!

Froot Bat Friday

Here's the scene around our house this morning.

Mom: Gimme some froot bat!

Me: No!
See my super mean face?

Mom: Gimme some froot bat! C'mon, T-Bone! ::baby talk:: Where's my bizzy boy? Gimme some froooooooot baaaaaaaat!

Me: Fine. But this is all you get today. ::sigh:: This is so embarrassing.

Happy Friday!

A Sad Day

Thank you, Maggy, Zoey, & Ann for letting us use this graphic.

Meme

William and Gandalf & Grayson tagged us like a squillion weeks ago for a meme and Mom is FINALLY helping us catch up. Here goes:

The rules of the game get posted at the beginning. Each player answers the questions about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 4 or 5 cats and post their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Let the cat who tagged you know when you have posted your answers.
1. What was I doing 10 years ago?
None of us had been borned yet.

2. Five things on my to do list for today.
Titus: Eat, nap, lie in the sun, nap, protect my ears
Tazo: Eat, nap, wash my furs, Thundering Herd of Elephants, jingle ball
EG: Jingle ball, eat, nap, put the bitey on some delicious, pink ears

3. Snacks I enjoy.
Titus: I enjoy all snacks. I even enjoy things that are not even considered snacks (like garbage, rabbit poo, kitty box crunchies, toilet paper, etc)
Tazo: TEMPTATIONS!!! And anything I can steal off Daddy's plate
EG: Temptations, a delicious, pink ear, Titus' dawg treats

4. Things I would do if I were a billionaire.
We would buy Mom and Dad a house and pay all their bills so that they could stay home with us all the time. We would also help all the homeless animals who don't have it as good as we do. And we would set up a fund to pay for medical bills for other furry kids whose parents have a hard time affording their medications/treatment.

5. Three of my bad habits.
Titus: Indiscriminant Competitive eating
Tazo: Stealing food off Daddy's plate
EG: I do not have any bad habits at all. Nope. None.

6. Five places I have lived.
Titus: With some mean people, with a nice lady named April, with Mom and Dad in our old house, and our current house
Tazo: With my furmom and her people, with Momma and Daddy
EG: The same as Tazo

7. Five jobs I have had.
Titus: Referee for the twins, super duper cuddle boy for Mom
Tazo: Professional Bug Killer (PBK)
EG: I only have one job - being in charge of everything that goes on inside and outside the house, and of course, whatever else is going on in the neighborhood at any given time. It's a tough job, but someone has to do it.

Shedding Season

Well, it's shedding season again. Every year around this time, big chunks of my undercoat start falling off my 'tocks. Well, sometimes they fall off and other times Mom pulls them off (which is kind of annoying, but she enjoys it, so I let her get away with it). She's been wielding the Furminator a lot, even though I prefer the Zoom Groom. But anyway, this is the kind of thing you see around our house lately.

But last night, something weird happened. Which was supposed to be the super exciting thing that Tazo was talking about yesterday. Except the only one really excited about this so called "exciting thing" is Mom. But here's the deal - Mom went to the groomer last night and got all her furs chopped off! Two years ago, Mom and her niece decided to grow their furs hair out so they could donate it. For the last couple of months, they've been going back and forth about when they were going to do it. Last week, when Mom was watching Aunt Jen pick out wigs for her chemo, she figured it was time. So last night, they went and got their furs cut. They took lots of pictures and everyone in the salon was giggling at them because they were acting so silly. Here are some pictures:

This is our cousin, K-Dawg, "Before"

Here is the groomer holding a chunk of K-Dawg's hair

Here is the "After"

Here's Mom's "Before"

Here is the groomer doing the first cut

Mom decided to get highlights and lowlights because she's never had them before. This is a picture of how she looks when we're playing RAWR. Only without the pretty pink foil things.

Here's Mom's "After"

Here's the pile of hair that they're going to mail off today. Doesn't it look like it would be super fun to play with?

They filled out all the forms last night and Mom wrote a note saying that they were dedicating their cuts in honor of Aunt Jen. (They're donating the hair to a local charity that helps kids with hair loss get wigs, so it's not really going to Aunt Jen, but it's in her honor.)

From the looks of that last picture, it looks like the groomer might have used the Furminator on Mom and cousin K-Dawg. hehe

Happy Wednesday!

Tazo Tuesday

I do not like the new flashy box. Not one little bit. This may be the only picture it will ever take of me. This is a picture of me heading for my hidey spot under the bed after I saw it's scary flashy lights and heard it's horrible ka-chunky sound. It is so askeery. I'm not kidding.

Bert, do you want to hide under the bed with me today?

In other news, something very exciting is happening tonight. But you're gonna have to wait until tomorrow to find out what it is. hee hee

Mancat Monday

Mancat Rule of the Day: It is very mancatly to steal your brother's dubble bubble squeaky toy *and* his tower of beds. heh heh

In other news, I sucked it up and cuddled with That Woman this weekend. I even threw in a purr for her. I guess she's back to being The Mom again only because I can't get a hold of Lanette.

Happy Monday!

Froot Bat Friday - Finally!

Man, it's been a rough week around here. EG's been super duper crabilated. He's left my ears alone, though he did chomp on my ankle (and got in lots of trouble for it).

Let's see. We have lots of catching up to do and it looks like it's going to be my job to fill you in.
The new camera is ok. Mom's got it stuck on some red eye reduction flashy thing, so it does this askeery strobe light thing that makes us think it's lightning and freaks us all out. She's been practicing a lot, but well, she needs a little more practice. hehe She still hasn't gotten any pictures of Tazo with it because Tazo hates the lightning light and the horrible clicky shutter sound. As soon as she hears it, she runs under the bed. hehe

Last weekend, Mom and Dad went away for a romantical, anniversary trip. For two whole days. We had a really nice petsitter looking after us. She gave me lots of peanutbutter (frozen inside a Kong). It was delicious. She also remembered to let me lick the spoon after she gave the twins their stinky goodness. Tazo hid from her most of the time, but she did come out a couple of times to play red dot. I didn't think her and EG were going to get along because EG hissed at her the very first time she came over. See, Tazo had run under the bed and Lanette didn't want to leave her in there with no food, water, or litterbox, so she grabbed her and carried her out. While she was doing that, EG hissed at her. But they made up really fast and now they're BFF. I liked Lanette a lot (she played RAWR with me in the yard), but it was really nice to have Mom and Dad home. Plus, they felt super guilty for leaving us, so we got lots of extra cuddles. And Mom had taken off two extra days from her hunting place, so we got to spend lots of extra time with her.

As far as Aunt Jen goes, she's doing pretty well. She finished her first round of induction chemo last night (that means she had chemo 24/7 for one week). Mom threw her a "Kick Chemo to the Curb" party. The snacks didn't sound very good to me (Lifesavers, Jolly Ranchers, and soda), but it cheered Aunt Jen up. She'll get another bone marrow test in the next week or two to see if there's any bad leukemia still in there. If there is, then she has to do another week of 24/7 chemo. After that, the plan is that she'll go to the hospital once a month for a five day course of chemo for the next few months. She wanted me to thank you guys for all the purrayers and pawsitive thoughts. It means a lot to her.

We've got some memes to do and we hope to get them done in the next couple of days. We apologize for not making it around to comment on everyone's bloggies. We're reading, but not commenting much right now. Hopefully hopefully hopefully things will calm down around here soon.

Happy Friday everyone!

Thursday Thirteen - Edition 50

Here are 13 reasons why I'm hissed off.

1. I can't find Lanette's phone number. Don't worry, Dorydoo, it's not like that. I'm just looking for a new The Mom.

2. No one has played red dot with me since Sunday. When Lanette left and never came back.

3. The timed kibble spitter outer has been empty since Sunday. When Lanette left and never came back.

4. Someone (not Lanette) spilled stinky goodness on my head and then proceeded to call me a gooby head.

5. Someone (not Lanette) made up a stoopid, new song. What the paw is an Errol-dy Errol? I don't like it.

6. That Guy squirted me with a water bottle last night. I was only trying to get a taste of his cereal.

7. The litterboxes are only getting scooped once a day again. Lanette scooped twice a day.

8. I got yelled at for putting the bitey on Titus' ankle. It's not my fault he screamed like a little girl. And it's not like I put the bitey on one of those precious, pink ears.

9. The new flashy box is terrible. That Woman has no idea how to work it. She played with the flash and now it just makes this horrible, lightning-ish flashy thing over and over and over. And then the pictures come out like yesterday's. It's terrible. How is everyone supposed to enjoy pictures of my handsome tuxedo if the pictures are all dark and blurry?

10. That Woman has been way to busy to help us visit our friends. If she's not at the hunting place or out having a romantical weekend or at the hospital with Aunt Jen, then she's sleeping. Or trying to sleep. See #12. heh heh

11. Lanette gave us lots more temptations than That Woman does. We haven't even had any since Monday. What the paw?

12. Lanette wouldn't yell at us for playing Thundering Herd of Elephants at 3:52 am.

13. Lanette wouldn't gag while cleaning up a poo spot off the carpet. She would understand that sometimes you just gotta scoot across the carpet. heh heh

Mancat Monday

Here is a new picture of me from the new flashy box. Um, yeah. I think it sucks. What the paw? It's so dark. It's a good thing I've found a new lady (see below). Maybe she knows how to operate the new flashy box.

First of all, Happy (belated) Mother's Day to all you The Mom's out there. We hope you had a great day!

Second of all, I have found a new The Mom. The one I had just wasn't cutting it. Especially since her and That Guy (formerly Dad) took off for two whole days to go on some romantical, grown ups only, alone time weekend for their anniversary. This new The Mom is awesome. Her name is Lanette and she played red dot with me and scratched my tummy and gave me lots of temptations. And she didn't yell at me when I hissed at her (but that's a story for another day). She let me put the bitey on her fingers. She is awesome. I thought for sure that she was here to stay. But then That Woman (formerly The Mom) and That Guy came home. Crap. I wonder where they keep Lanette's phone number...

Froot Bat Friday

In other news, today is Mom and Dad's 10th anniversary. They've been married way longer than I've even been alive. That's like a squillion years or something. Anyway, Happy Anniversary, Mom and Dad!

White Feets and Wordy Wednesday

Still no luck with the new flashy box. For those who asked, it's an O*lympus E*volt E410 (without the starry things). And The Mom has no idea how to work the thing. BECAUSE SHE WON'T GET WITH THE PROGRAM AND POST SOME NEW PICTURES OF ME, I have put together a small pictorial of what's going on. Please also note that these pictures are AT LEAST A SQUILLION years old. :sigh:

Here is a picture of my feets. It's not a bad picture. I think it shows off my white feets quite nicely. For White Feets Wednesday. This is the kind of picture that we should be featuring on our blog.

However, we seem to be getting quite a lot of these pictures lately. Blurry, ghosty, ick-tastic. The Mom is really quite a disappointment lately. Whatevs.

In other news, we've got lots of stuff to post, IF THE MOM WOULD GET HER 'TOCKS IN GEAR. I'm trying to be patient, but holy cats, she's causing us to be really behind.

In other, other news, Aunt Jen starts chemo today. She's doing a seven day induction treatment, which means she gets the drugs constantly for the next seven days. If you guys have some extra woofs, purrs, and/or purrayers to send her way, it would be really appreciated.

Tazo Tuesday

In case anyone's wondering, EG is still quite out of sorts because of his horrible weekend. In other news, because it is Tazo Tuesday, let me tell you what's been going on in my world.

First of all, I am happy that Momma can't work the new camera. Because it is askeery. It makes a horrible, askeery clicky noise. Which is askeery. And makes me hide under the bed. So I don't have to have my picture taken. Because Momma can't find me. hee hee

In other other news, for the last week and a half, I have had an icky eye. (Please note that the above picture (taken in 2006!) shows a perfectly nice left eyeball. It's not a gooby eye in the least. Momma packed me in my carrier and tooked me to the V-E-T on Thursday. It was terrible. It was so askeery. My hide-from-the-V-E-T trick didn't even work. It's where I crawl into the farthest corner of my carrier and hold real still because if I don't move a muscle, then they can't see me. It didn't work. The V-E-T tech girl pulled me out of my carrier by the scruff of the neck. (Which, by the way, really hissed off Momma because she never ever ever would pick us up like that because it's not necessary for us. Momma gived her a dirty look and said that she'd be happy to get me out of the carrier the next time - hee hee). Anyway, I got weighed and I lost 9 oz! Momma gived me lots of kisses for that because we've been working really hard on losing a teeny bit of weight. Then Dr. C came in and looked in my ears and listened to my heart and looked at my gooby eye. She shined a light in there and didn't see anything. Then she tooked me in the back for a :gasp: corneal stain. It was terrible. She put goobier stuff in my gooby eye and then :whispers: looked right in there. It was so askeery. But she didn't see any scratches so she and Momma were super happy. She figured I have conjunctivitis and tried to give Momma some ointment to put in my eye, but Momma said, "No way! Do you have drops?" (Because Momma had to put ointment in Shadow's (the Dawg who came before) eye once and Shadow was as squiggly as me and Momma said she got more ointment in her own eyes than she ever got in Shadow's - hee hee). So I got drops. They suck. Twice a day, Momma makes me into a Tazo burrito and Daddy puts the drops in. But I do get temptations for being a good girl. Temptations count for a lot, but I think I should have more than two. And Momma says my eye is looking better, so hopefully I don't have to have the drops much longer.

In other, other, other news, Momma's wiped out. She visited Aunt Jen's kitty tonight to play with her for a little while. They were getting along just fine until Molly gave her the bitey. And Molly doesn't give gentle biteys. hee hee So Momma came home and discovered that Daddy had brought her some beers. So she had a few one of these:

PS - She says that she thinks a toona-tini might be tastier. hee hee

So that's our Tuesday. Whew! I need a nap. Bert, you wanna come over and snooze in the stroller with me?

Man Cat Monday

See that face up there? That is my best mad face. See, stuff happened over the weekend that really hissed me off. First of all, you may be wondering why my Man Cat Monday post is so late. Well, I'm wondering the same thing. I like these things to be taken care of first thing in the morning.

Second, you may notice the date on the photo. It's almost two years old. Grrrr. You might be asking, "Why, EG? Why is that photo so old?" Well, let me tell you, I'm asking myself the same thing. This is what I had to put up with:

The Mom got a new-to-her camera on Friday. But she has no idea how to work it. So what were intended to be super duper handsome pictures of me turned out to be horrible, blurry, ghosty-looking images. And she has no idea how to get them off the camera or make them look better. I'll chalk this up to every day The Mom problems. It's really nothing new. This I can deal with. We always have the regular camera to fall back on.

HOWEVER, what really cheesed my crackers was That Guy (formerly referred to here as "Dad"). That Guy loaned out the camera that The Mom actually sort of knows how to use normally uses. SO THERE ARE NO NEW PICTURES OF MY HANDSOMENESS. WHAT IF DORYDOO FORGETS WHAT I LOOK LIKE?????

THEN, on Saturday night, The Mom dropped a book and it made a loud noise and I had to do poofy tail at Titus, which got me yelled at. I really wasn't going to whap him. Really.

It was just a rough weekend. But That Guy better bring home The Mom's old camera or teach her how to use the new one**, because my friends should not be deprived of my greyness.

**I'm not holding my breath for this one, because the two of 'em couldn't even figure out how to attach the strap on the new camera. See what I'm working with here?

Froot Bat Friday - The Archives

Here is a picture of me and EG - before he discovered the deliciousness that is my ears. Boy, those were the days.

In other news, Aunt Jen would like to thank everyone for all their purrs and purrayers. She was really touched by everyone's kindness. Mom told her that the blogosphere doesn't mess around when somebody needs good thoughts. :)

We haven't been commenting much lately, but we're reading lots - especially when Mom needs a smile. Hopefully, we'll be back to commenting in a few days.

Thinking Thursday Thirteen - Edition 49

Here's some things that we've been thinking this week:

1. Right now is a fine time for some kibble. Or temptations.

2. Did I hear the temptations bag crinkling?

3. Why is the Motor City Stripey Kitties pitcher walking all those batters? Is Jeter laffin' and laffin' right now? hee hee

4. What *would* Jeter do?

5. What's a pet sitter? And a vacation?

6. That sunspot looks really inviting.

7. I am NOT a pillow.

8. Momma's fingers look so bite-able.

9. It's freezing cold again. Do I have to bust out the Tazo Tippers?

10. We wish that all of our sick and hurty friends would feel better.

11. We need to find a good knock knock joke.

12. Is Momma really getting a new flashy box?

13. Is it time for some temptations?

We'd also like to ask a huge favor of our friends. Our Mom's best-friend-since-kindergarten, Aunt Jen, got diagnosed with leukemia this week. She's coming back to the Mitten State to start chemo today. Mom's really scared and sad and worried. Would you guys please send some positive thoughts and/or purrayers Aunt Jen's way? We would really, really appreciate it.
