Froot Bat Friday

Finally!

In other news, Mom and EG seem to have made up. He E-Dubbed on her a lot last night. And he only put the bitey on her once. But it was on her elbow, so I'm not sure that counts.

And a note from EG:
Yes, That Woman. I *do* need to stare at the ceiling and meow and fritz around the house like something or someone is chasing me. No, I won't tell you what (if anything) I'm looking out. That just adds to the mystery. And I don't care that it's dark and Dad's not home. Again, just adding to the mystery. heh heh

Thursday Thirteen - Edition 30

Titus says:
Tazo and I had a talk yesterday. With EG being such a crabzilla lately, we decided that we needed to do something a little, well, nicer on our bloggie today. So, I gave Mom my best Princess Di eyes, and (of course) it worked. She helped us with our Box of Life Meme from Miss Peach.

So here are Thirteen Things that we would put in our Box of Life:

1. Mom and Dad. They take super good care of us and make sure that we're happy and healthy.

2. Each other. We may have spats, but at the end of the day, it's nice to have someone to cuddle with.

3. All our friends in the Cat Blogosphere. We' re so grateful to have met such great beans and kitties and dawgs and buns and rats and goats and even lizards. We love how everyone always comes together to help out someone in need - with purrs, hugs, purrayers, even green papers. Mom still gets leaky eyes when she thinks about all the kind words and purrayers that EG got when he was sick - and we hadn't even been blogging for that long.

4. Our Mom's boss. He loves animals and is very understanding if she needs to take time off to take care of one of us, or if she needs to bring one of us in to work for whatever reason. He even lets them have "Bring Your Dawg to Work Day" every once in a while. I don't get to go because I don't really like other dawgs, but it's nice to be invited.

5. Play time with Mom and Dad. We usually all play together and it's super fun.

6. Kibbles and stinky goodness.

7. Our V-E-Ts and all the other nice ladies who work there. They are always nice to us (even though they stick needles in our booties) and they tell us how cute and sweet we are.

8. The space heater.

9. All our toys and chew bones.

10. The songs that Mom sings to us. She will change the words to the songs so that it's all about us.

11. EG's cuddle time with That Woman. Even though he's been pretty mad at her, at the end of the day, he still E-Dubs on her every night when she goes to bed.

12. Shadow, the One Who Came Before. She was the first dawg that Dad ever lived with and she worked her magic on him. Now he can't ever imagine a life without furry kids in it.

13. Great sleeping spots - Titus' Tower of Beds and the cable box and the cozy spot on top of the dryer.

Well, Mom's getting all mushy and leaky-eyed, so we're going to go cuddle with her. Thank you for the great meme, Miss Peach!
Happy Thursday everyone!

White Feets Wednesday

I guilted That Woman into taking some pictures. But notice that I'm not looking at her. Serves her right. Unfortunately, all the pictures are terrible. You should see them. They're almost painful to look at. Hmmm, I'm sensing a T13 post...

Anyway, to explain the picture - we got a new space heater. And my new favorite place to nap is right in front of it. I also learned a fun new trick - I get so close to it that That Woman shrieks and carries on because she thinks I'm going to burn my whiskies. heh heh That's what she gets for letting the V-E-T stick needles in my booty and shove a homing device under my skin.

Oh, AND this morning, she didn't rinse out the water bowl like she usually does. She only *added* water to it. I sat there glaring at the bowl, but she still didn't rinse it. The rinsing is the most important part. Because I hate drinking after Titus. He gets his drool all in the bowl. And I don't do dawg drool. Who out there has a claw of doom and is willing to use it on That Woman? Or at least teach me your secret? Sammy? Miles?

PS - To the owner of the claw of doom, it appears that you'll have to take care of business yourself. To add insult to injury, last night was mani/pedi night. Can this week get any worse?

Ticked Off Tuxie Tuesday

Has anyone noticed anything weird about our blog lately? Like the fact that there have not been any original Furry Kids photos lately? That Woman is totally slacking. Something about it being dark when she gets home and it's hard to take pictures and the house is too messy and blah, blah, blah. Whatever. I enjoy my photo sessions. My furs have been groomed and ready to go for days. But no! That Woman always has an excuse. Grrrr.

Last night, That Woman was sitting on the couch, watching TV. I E-Dubbed onto her lap and stayed there until Dad came home (almost an hour). She was under the impression that we had made up. However, I was just trying to get closer to the space heater. heh heh

I hope that everyone else has a better Tuesday.

Friday Recap & Sweet Kallie

Thanksgiving was ok. Momma and Daddy went to Gramma and Papa’s house, so there was a lack of cuddling on Thursday. But Gramma did send us some leftover turkey, so it was ok. Oh, and I ate part of the pumpkin pie that Daddy made. He left it in the oven with the door open to cool off. He heard a funny noise coming from the kitchen. When he went in there, he saw me standing on the oven door (which was only cracked a little bit), snacking on the pie. It was yummy!

Momma was off on Friday, which we took to mean lots and lots of cuddling. We were wrong. Ever so wrong.

On Thursday night, the PTU’s came out. They sat in the hallway all night. Me and EG played in them a little bit and then I took a nap on the fuzzy blankie in mine.

Friday morning we cuddled and cuddled with Momma. She got up and started digging for gold in the litterboxes. Which she does every morning, but this morning she was mumbling something about “samples“. Unfortunately, she didn’t find any gold. Heh heh And she didn’t find any “samples,” as she called them, either.

Pretty soon, Daddy picked me up and put me in one of the PTUs. He didn’t get it zipped up in time, so I ran out and ran under the bed. Momma played the old, open-the-food-container trick and I ran right out. I did get a small snack out of it. Daddy put me back in the PTU and Momma sprinkled a couple pieces of kibble in there, and Daddy zipped it right up. Then he picked up EG and put him in the PTU. Only EG hates the PTU and went all rubbery. Daddy tried to put him in the PTU and he hopped right out. After four tries, Daddy held EG’s body and Momma held his legs and they got him in there and zipped him up.

Then we got in the car. It was ok. EG cried a little bit, but not too much. Then we got to a place that I hadn’t been to in a long, long time. It was the V-E-T’s office. Grrrr. Momma signed us in and filled out some paperwork. Then Jennifer, the really nice receptionist, said that they had three emergencies that day, so it would be a little bit before we could see Dr. P. Momma said that was ok - she and EG had been in for emergencies a couple of times and people had to wait for them.

We spent the time checking out some Westie dawgs - Annabelle and Mozart. They were ok, but kinda hyper. There was a Dalmatian that came out of one of the rooms. His mom told Momma that he bites. Momma got annoyed and asked if he was going to bite her or us kitties. The lady took him out to the car. While they were outside, Momma went on and on about how people need to keep their dawgs on a short leash, especially if they’re snippy to other people or pets. Daddy started to get embarrassed. Then Daddy, who was looking out the window, said, “Oh, no. They’re carrying in a big dawg. I think it might be another emergency.” There was a lady carrying in a big, black dawg. Momma jumped up and grabbed the door for her. As soon as they got in the door, the lady put the dawg down. She said that he hated going to the V-E-T and refused to get out of the car, so they had to carry him inside every time. Momma giggled a little. His name was Moose and he was really askeered. He was shaking and shaking and trying to get outside. Daddy went over to pet him because he looked just like Titus, only black. Then Daddy went into the adoption room because there was a cat in there named Lucky. Jennifer, the really nice receptionist, said that he was really lovey and cool. Daddy picked him up and cuddled him and wanted to bring him home. Momma said that Titus wouldn’t like that very much. And he was a Maine Coon. And we’re a little askeered of those Maine Coons after the way they took over the Top 100 Cat Sites.

Finally, we got taken into another room. This lady pulled EG out of the PTU and put him on the scale. He weighed 10 lbs, 12 oz. Momma was soooo happy that he finally gained the weight back that he‘d lost last spring. Then the lady pulled me out of the PTU and put me on the scale. I weighed 11 lbs, 1 oz. Daddy giggled. Momma told him not to tease me. The lady double checked what we were there for and then said the doctor would be in soon.

Dr. P came in and EG was hiding behind Daddy’s coat. Daddy picked him up and put him on the table and Dr. P said he looked really good. She asked how he was doing and was surprised to hear that he was the bully of our house. She giggled and said that it was good to see him feeling 100%. She looked at his eyes and ears and teeths and said he had great looking chompers. She said that he was a good weight and that he looked very healthy and his heart sounded great. Then she took him in the back. I don’t know what happened back there, so I’ll let him tell you.

EG:
So Dr. P took me in the back. I didn’t get anything stuck in my spot #13 - I was glad because I had that done before and it sucks. But she stuck a giant needle in my shoulder and then again in my booty and it sucked. Then she stuck a gianter needle between my shoulders and shoved a homing device in there. It sucked. Then she brought me back in the room with Dad and Tazo and That Woman. I gave them the stink eye, but it didn’t matter to them at all. I told Tazo to run - run fast and run far, but she was too askeered and just sat there.

Tazo:
So Dr P, looked in my ears and eyes and at my teeths (which she said were as nice as EG’s). Momma asked if I was c-h-u-b-b-y (which I don’t know what that spells), and Dr. P said that I was a little. She poked at my sides and said that she could feel my ribs, so Momma should just keep an eye on my and try to really control my snacks. What snacks?! I never, NEVER, get snacks. Only what I steal off Daddy’s plate, well, and that pumpkin pie but that shouldn’t count. Grrrrr. Then she told Momma and Daddy that the results for the blood tests for leukemia and FIV would take about 10 minutes and if that came back ok, then I’d get my shots and microchip. What?!

So she took me in the back room and there was this dawg back there hollering and hollering. I’m not used to that, so I tried to ignore it. It just made me askeered. This lady held me on her lap and STOLED MY BLOODS. Out of my leg!!! And I hated it. It hurted and it messed up my furs. Then Dr. P stuck a giant needle between my shoulders and shoved a microchip in there. It hurted. But I didn’t cry because I didn’t want that whiney dawg to hear me. Because I’m way braver than a whiney dawg.

Then the lady took me back in the room with EG and Daddy and Momma. She told Momma that I was a really good girl in the back. She said that I just sat on her lap and let her STEAL MY BLOODS. She handed me over to Momma and I was never so glad to see her in my life. Momma stood there and held me and walked me around the room until Dr. P came back in. Dr P said that the bloods that they STOLED from me were negative - whatever - so I could have my shots. My what?! Then Momma sat on the bench and let Dr. P stick ginormous needles in my shoulder and booty. It was horrifying. But I was good and just let them do it. I figured the sooner they were done, the sooner we could go home.

Another lady came in there with a bag of stuff. She scanned our microchips to show Momma and Daddy how they worked. Then she said that our homing devicesmicrochips paperwork was in there - along with our flea drops. What?! Apparently someone blabbed about Titus bringing in that flea on his head that time, so Momma got more flea drops. I hate flea drops.

Finally, we checked out and Momma paid about a squillion dollars and we got to leave. We dropped Daddy off at work and Momma took us home. She opened up the PTU’s and we jumped right out. Titus came over and sniffed and sniffed and sniffed us. Then we took long baths to try to get the V-E-T germs off of us. Then we all laid on the couch and watched TV and took naps. Whew! It was a long afternoon. We’re glad it’s over.

In other news, Kallie, sister of our grate friends Jeter Harris, Matsui, & Mickey Mantle, went to the Rainbow Bridge on Thursday. We're sending lots of hugs and purrs to them. Rest in peace, sweet Kallie.

Happy Thanksgiving!

That Woman is a huge Sesame Street fan. This cracks her up every year. And every year she e-mails it to all her friends. And every year they tell her that it's sick. Sometimes we worry about her.

Anyway, here's a much nicer picture. Dad and Titus and Tazo and me thought we needed to include a less, um, icky picture. We want to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving. We're really grateful for all the new furriends we've made this year. You guys all mean so much to us.

Peace and love,
Titus, Tazo, EG, Dad, and That Woman

That Woman Wednesday

I am no longer speaking to That Woman (formerly The Mom). I want to blog. I have lots of stuff to tell everyone. You are not working today. It is the perfect day to blog. I do not care that you forgot to buy sugar for your pumpkin pie or that you have a bunch of other errands to do. Just help me blog. Really, what's more important than blogging?

Feeling Better Furry Kids & Mancat Monday

We're all feeling better today - no more grumpies at our house for a while. We got in lots of cuddling and playing over the weekend. Titus and EG have made up, and best of all, there have been no ear biteys since Thursday. Whew!
But there is half a milk jug ring missing that's sort of freaking Momma out, but she'll be ok. heh heh

Furious Froot Bat Friday

I am furious. Someone put the bitey on my ear last night. Again. What the paw? What did I do? Um, NOTHING! Just because EG's mad at Mom doesn't mean he has to take it out on me. He did get a time out for it, though. After he put the bitey on Mom's arm (and left a bruise! - he never did that before) and on her tummy. And on my ear. So maybe I shouldn't have teased him the other night about being afraid of chicken. But seriously, who is afraid of chicken? Chicken is tasty. Did someone say chicken? I gotta go to the kitchen right now. Happy Friday!

Thursday Thirteen - Edition... What?!

I am not speaking with The Mom. It's Thursday. It's supposed to be Thursday Thirteen. See those papers next to me? Those are the notes I jotted down for our T13 this week. But notice that we have no T13 this week. What the paw? I am *not* happy. The Mom is gonna get the cold shoulder today. She might even get the bitey. She might even get the soon-to-be-patented Earthworm With the Bitey (sorry, Storm's Mom). Consider yourself warned, The Mom.

For my good friend, George:
Since The Mom is being so lame, I can only copy this from a previous post. But it explains it nicely. If anyone has any other questions, please feel free to ask. And when The Mom decides that she is available to HELP US BLOG, then I will happily answer your questions.

"I am working on patenting my Earthworm Move. It is the best. You go boneless (like an earthworm) and then burrow under the covers (also like an earthworm). Then you can put the bitey on your Mom or Dad when they least expect it (not too much like an earthworm because worms don’t have teeth). It is a very effective, tactical move. Mom and Dad think I'm being cute and lovey and then BAM! Heeeeere's BITEY! Heh heh"

Danny & Sandy???

Skeezix sent us prize package from the Pimp My Stroller contest. And we'll post pictures as soon as The Mom* gets off her butt and helps us blog more. But anyway, one of the things in the box was a postcard with Skeezix's picture on it. The Mom* thought it needed to be on the fridge with all the other things that make her smile. The next time we walked by, we noticed this:

At first, we thought it was Danny and Sandy from Grease, but it was even better! It was Skeezix and Daisy!

It makes The Mom* smile every time she sees it. And when she ends up getting off her butt and helping us blog, then we'll show you more pictures of what we have on our fridge.

Oh, and that purple paper to the left of Daisy is Titus' punch card from the DIY dawg wash place. 10 punches and the 11th bath's free! Hahahahahaha!

*EG has decided to call her "The Mom" until she gets off her butt and helps us blog more. Work, shmerk. Blah, blah, blah...

Tired Tazo & Tuxedo Tuesday

EG wants to thank Dorydoo, for nominating him for the You Make Me Smile Award. Whiskie kissies to you, Dorydoo!

And we want to wish our Papa a very, very Happy Birthday today!!!

Manly Monday

We had a pretty quiet weekend, here at the casa de la Furry Kids. Lots of football and cuddling. The twins did lots of napping and I did lots of squirrel watching. Mom and Dad went to a birthday party and came home smelling like other dawgs. They were my dawg cousins, so it was ok. I was hoping that Grandma or Papa would've sent me a little snack, but Mom said they only had chili and she didn't think that was all that good for my tummy. But next week is Thanksgiving, so I'm sensing some turkey in my future.

Monty's Home!!!!

Our very good friend, Monty, is lost. His beans are super worried. Monty, please come home right now! We're sending lots of hugs and purrs and purrayers to him and his family.

UPDATE: Monty's home. Momma checked his bloggie before she left work last night and he was home! Yay!!!!

Aw Phooey, Friday

So our Friday post this week posed some problems for Mom.

Frootbat Friday
First, Titus refused to be a frootbat. He just wasn't feeling it this week. Despite her repeated attempts to make him cooperate, he just wouldn't. He quickly grew weary of her poking at his ears and saying, "Be a frootbat, be a frootbat, be a frootbat..." in an irritating singsong voice. Personally, I would've put the bitey on her.

This is the best frootbat picture she got.

Luxurious Furs Friday
Much like my hoo-has, my luxurious winter furs have just mysteriously appeared this week. Mom tried to photograph them. Ah, no. Notice the evil glare.
You can sort of see them by my right back foot. But that's the best she's gonna do. heh heh

And last but not least - the grasping at straws post: Female Friday
Nope, Tazo wasn't cooperating either. Hahahahahahaha!

Happy Friday to everyone!

Thursday Thirteen - Edition 29

13 Things That Happened at Our House This Week:

1. Mom decided that, in order to save time in the morning, she would scoop out the litterboxes in the evening, instead of the morning. A fine idea, except that we like to do our business in the late evening or early morning. Which means there's stuff in there that's ripe for litterbox surfing, if you know what I mean. Which is exactly what Titus did. And then he had 'tocks trouble again. Mom went back to morning scooping. heh heh

2. Mom added clean litter to the litterboxes. Which tends to freak us out a little. When she went in the bedroom to kiss Dad goodbye (on her way to work), she noticed a wet spot on the bed. She doesn't know if it was spit or pee, but she wasn't taking any chances. She had to throw the blankets into the washer. And be late for work. heh heh

3. Mom and Dad had pizza on Friday night. Mom got up to get more napkins and Dad (what was he thinking? Bless his heart) left the pizza box unattended. So Titus ran over and helped himself to the pie. He left Mom and Dad two pieces. Covered with white furs. hee hee

4. Titus wanted to play with EG, so he jumped out at him and play bowed and gave him a play growl. Only EG didn't understand and thought Titus was being mean and got all poofy tail on him. It wasn't pretty. EG got a time out.

5. EG chased Tazo all over the house and made her scream. He got a time out.

6. Mom was doing the head check before heading to work. Only she couldn't find me and Tazo. She was calling us and calling us and begging us to show her a paw or a tail or a whiskie. But we didn't. So she had to look under all the furniture. She finally found me under the couch and Tazo was under the cedar chest. She was kinda late for work. Again. heh heh

7. I, EG, put the bitey on Titus' ear. His ear is fine, by the way. It was just a gentle bitey. That ended up being hurty. heh heh

8. After Tazo put her paw in Dad's plate, he willingly shared his spaghetti with us, while Mom wasn't looking.

9. There was a possum in the driveway and it was having a staredown with Titus. Mom ran out and grabbed Titus and while she was wrangling him into the house, EG ran outside. Mom shoved Titus into the house and then went to get EG. It was dark, he was hiding his white feets, and Mom was askeered. She finally found him on the patio and grabbed him and ran back inside. She was super glad that the possum was on the other side of the fence. It was very exciting, I mean, askeery.

10. Dad cleaned out under the couch again and found 4 jingle balls, 14 practice golf balls, $1.73, a catnip eggplant, and the catnip cigar.

11. We do not agree with the time change. At all. On Sunday, we wanted to eat dinner at 4:00. Mom held us off until 4:45, but we squawked and RAWR-ed at her the whole time.

12. We have all been sleeping in bed with Mom and Dad. Me and Tazo earthworm under the covers and Titus sleeps on top of the covers. Either way, Mom and Dad can't move without waking us up. And they don't really want to wake us up because then we don't really want to go back to sleep. Because any time after 2:30 am is PLAY TIME. And we can play for HOURS. Whee!

13. We had the best game of Thundering Herd of Elephants last night. Even Mom played with us. It was super fun. Until we started weaving around between her feets and she almost tripped. She stopped playing after that. heh heh

White Dawg Wednesday

So here's the deal. Yesterday, I was sitting on the couch in my favorite spot, trying to take a rest. I was having a pretty good nap, and Mom was dozing in the TT-san chair. All of a sudden, there was a terrible pain in my ear. I yelped. Mom jumped up and ran over to me. Neither of us knew what had happened. We were very confused and Mom was kinda worried because I don't just yelp for no reason. But Dad explained the whole thing. Apparently, while Mom and I were dozing, EG (who had been laying in Dad's lap on the other side of the couch) jumped up on the couch arm, walked over to me, and put the bitey on my ear. Grrrr. He got a "talking to." heh heh

Tuesday, November 6, 2007

Tazo Tuesday

Momma is usually very protective of her camera strap. But a lot of my friends on the Cat Blogosphere have told me great things about putting the bitey on the camera strap. So I talked Momma into letting me try it out. And guess what? It rocks! It is super, super fun.

The Big Game

Today is the day of the big University of Mitten State / Mitten State University (American) Football game. Momma was torturing us by singing the U of M fight song all morning. Until Daddy started talking about the year she graduated from the University of Mitten State and how long ago that was. Then she had to go lay down. hee hee

Go Wolverines!!!!!

Froot Bat and Furniture Friday

I was not feeling very froot-batty in this picture. EG is trying to whap me. And I don't really like it.

This is a picture of Mom and Dad's our new chair. It is called a Papsan chair. But we have taken it over. So it is called a TT-san, EG-san, or Tazosan chair, depending on who is in it.

Mom found a blankie that sort of matches the cushion, so now it looks like this. I don't know why she doesn't want our furs all over it.

EG: Dorydoo, do you want to come over and cuddle in the EG-san chair with me? Whiskie kissies to you.

Halloween Recap

We had a pretty quiet night last night. We didn't end up getting locked in the litterbox room. We only had 13 sticky things come to the door to steal Momma's chocolate trick or treating, so Daddy handed out the candy and Momma wrangled EG. (She's got some good scratches on her chest and arms this morning - hee hee). Titus got pets from all but one sticky thing.

Here are some pictures from our night:

EG is trying to look super manly.

Titus got dressed up for Halloween, too. He's wearing a askeery bat collar.

I am not too sure about this Halloween stuff. This is a picture of me that Momma snapped on my brief excursion out from under the bed. (I went right back under there after this was taken.)

Now this fine individual lives on the next block. Momma and Daddy call her (and we don't even know if it's a *her*) "Hairy Tazo." About a year ago, Momma was driving down our street and saw this kitty a block away from our house and she thought it was Tazo. So she stopped the car and jumped out and started to run after her. But then she realized that it wasn't Tazo. When she told Daddy about it, he said that he had also seen that kitty and thought it was Tazo, too. Anyway, she followed her kids up the street while they were trick or treating. Momma was kinda mad at the kids for not putting her in the house, especially on Halloween. But they didn't stop at our house, so Momma couldn't talk to them. Instead, she and Daddy told Hairy Tazo to head on home. She stayed around for a little bit to tease Titus and EG, but then she headed home.

Congratulations to all the winners of Skeezix's Halloween Costume Contest!
